pale leaves

rattlesnake plant (calathea lancifolia). symptoms: pale leaves with blotchy discoloration, dry tips that are angled upwards and slightly curling at the edges. too much or too little lighting? humidity problems? i'm finding conflicting advice on the internet. any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
